Dance your way into history by joining the Blue Mountains Charleston Challenge attempt to break our very own Guinness World Record for the largest number of costumed people to dance the Charleston.
Last year, 276 dancers helped set a new record. This year we need at least 300.
You don’t have to be a professional to take part.
Simply wear a 1920s-themed costume (a feather boa, string of pearls or a black dress will do or, for men, a dapper suit and fedora hat) and dance continuously for five minutes. Practice sessions will be held on-site throughout the morning and dance leaders will be stationed along The Mall during the attempt.
Choreographed by Australia’s No. 1 Lady of Swing Jan O’Shea and led by Amanda Pavlic from Let’s Moove n Groove Dance & DJ Services, you’ll be leg-swinging & foot-tapping in no time!
You can down load the dance sequence and start practicing now. Click here to see the video.
Trains from Sydney’s Central will arrive at Leura station at 10.16am on the day, just in time to register and practice before the countdown begins.
