Batman: Death by Design
Just wanted to note that 'Batman: Death by Design' by Chip Kidd and Dave Taylor is a lovely dieselpunk homage. It is the sort of Batman I especially enjoy reading. Perfect 40's esthetic, excellent intrigue, surprisingly evocative artiwork for being very subtly colored--all this in the architecturally rich Gotham of which so many of us dream.

If you're a Batman fan, I'm in love with "Batman: Gotham Noir" from 2001 and "Batman: Nine Lives" from 2002. They're a little hard to come by these days, but they're both excellent takes on the Batman universe from a noir perspective and I can't recommend them enough.

This looks amazing. Maybe the first Batman story I've been interested in since those Elseworlds ones from many moons ago. I have an thing for stories about architecture and its impact on people's lives, as weirdly specific as that sounds. Will have to check this one out!

Thought not quite as detailed in its architectural references, 'Gates of Gotham' is in a similar vein. I enjoyed it as well--especially the villain's suit.
