Dieselpunks

Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

I couldn't help but notice the glaring absence of what, to me, is a quintessential bit of dieselpunkery. The board and video game of Crimson Skies.

Set in an alternate 20's these games have it all. secret high tech weapons based on Tesla. aircraft that defy imagination. Even a psuedo nazi-esque group called "Die Spinne" If you aren't familiar with them I suggest you check them out. High Road to Revenge is available for the original xbox and the tabletop version can be found on ebay.

Have you tried Timeslip's unofficial patch? It worked for my Nvidia, I don't know if it also works with ATI video cards.
No, it doesn't help ATI. I downloaded it anyway, because it allows me to play without the disc.
I tried the demo yesterday. It was interesting. The zeppelin aircraft carriers were interesting. I wasn't feeling the '30s vibe though; the airplanes were too "Rutan-esque" to me, didn't seem like craft that they would have come up with back then.

This means you're missing part of the setting information -- the aircraft portrayed in the film aren't  30s aircraft. According to the setting, the lack of trust between the nation states caused the highways not to come into being and the aviation technology to get pushed ahead several years.

I remember wanting to play that years ago, looked fun back then. Probably going to buy it eventually.
In truth, many of the airframes are cribbed from experimental WWII designs, mostly German.

I remember playing this a lot with friends when I was younger. The video game version that is.

I wish they'd make more flying games like it.
