A legend indeed, I love her! Good writeup. Her life story has parallels with Anna May Wong as regards the sad racism of the day. They both had great success in Europe but couldn't catch a break in America. A shame.

 

A good biopic of Baker (or Wong, for that matter) would be amazing -- apparently one was done in 1991 as a TV movie, but she surely deserves better.

Thanks JR. I tried to give her the proper tribute she deserves. A beautiful, talented, intelligent and brave woman. 

 

I very much agree that she does deserve a good movie to be made about her.
