Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

On my most recent posting for my Dieselpunk blog I decided to write about one of my other passions: Star Trek.

very cool, Larry.  I love the original series.

Thanks, Hex! :)

Voyager had a few Diesel-pulpy things as well thanks to LCDR Paris and his noir/pulp holodeck adventures (one of the VOY series' few redeeming qualities, IMO). TNG had a couple such eps too, I seem to recall.

Thanks Cap'n. I watched Voyager but wasn't a big fan of it as I was TOS, TNG and DS9.

There's a recurring "The Adventures of Captain Proton" pulpy holodeck adventure "serial" on the show...part of Tom Paris' "love for 20th C. pop culture" quirk. Fun. Not enough to save the series, though.

Picard was also often in the holodeck(oh how hated how that thing was used) with noir stuff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Goodbye .  TNG wasn't bad.  Just couldn't stand DS9, Voyager or Enterprise.

That's right, Cap'n! The Captain Proton episodes were very Dieselpunk. Loved them.

Yep...you ask me they should have revamped the whole of VOY into Captain Proton, not just a few Eps. :D
