Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

So I wasn't sure if I should post here or in Fashion, but since this is still in the design phase I thought I'd share.

I found this AMAZING 40's hat in an antique shop that started the wheels turning.  Pictures:

(no makeup.. this is what I look like all natural and stuff)

I thought this would be perfect for a reprint of a 1946 pattern.  I'm going to color block it in black and red.  I'll scan my colored drawings when not at home.  BUT!  I can't decide on short or long sleeves.  Feedback?  Pattern cover below.

Sharp!

Here is the pencil sketch of the dress above colored in for reference. I think I'm still leaning toward the short sleeve version.
I would go with short sleeves, and a shrug just in case you get cold.
completely unrelated to the post, but you have the same camera I have!
Well, due to
1) Massive car drama
2) My cat being attacked and almost killed by a coyote (he's still under intensive care, lost an eye)
3) a friend pointing out to me this looks like a 40's version of a Star Trek costume

I am not going to get to making this particular dress. *SIGHS*
Holy shit. I hope you're okay.

Thanks to all of the treatments I've done to keep my cat alive, I think they're building a new wing at the Vet's office in her honor, so I feel for you.

I personally like long sleeves, if anything because it's so rare to see long sleeves at this time of the year xD
