Mildred Pierce
If you've not yet caught wind of the HBO mini-series remake, Mildred Pierce, it is most excellent! 
If you are a fan of 1930's fashion, music, and society.. I'm willing to wager you'll dig it. Tonight, HBO will air the final two episodes.
Also, if anyone has seen the original, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I haven't seen it yet, but I really loved what they did with Boardwalk Empire (for the most part).

I recently started taking HBO and haven't seen either. I also missed The Pacific. :(

Larry- The Pacific was good.. but while I enjoyed it.. I didn't have the same appreciation for it that I have for Band of Brothers. All the same, I highly recommend it.. esp. for a fellow dieselpunk.

If you haven't see the original Mildred Pierce, it's worth watching. The lighting and cinematography are beautiful. Also parts of the story are shockingly candid from what most people would imagine playing in a 1945 movie house.
