Dieselpunks

Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

Figured I'd post some of my art that's a little more relevant to the tastes of this community. Hope you all enjoy.

Quick speedpaint I did of a freeze-frame from Dark City. I find that when I'm low on ideas or losing touch with my style it helps to just do some easy referenced paintings from my favorite movies.

This one's about three years old, but it doesn't revolt me too much. I was listening to the song Circling Overland by VNV Nation and was inspired to do a few frames of a storyboard for how I pictured the non-existent music video for it in my head. Some day I should do the whole thing.

Motorcycle design I did a year or two ago.

Quick speedpaint. Inspired by the song "I Saw Your Ship" from the EVE Online soundtrack.

Okay this one's REALLY ancient. Think I did this maybe 5-6 years ago.

Very nice!
Very cool. I love the watercolor feel of the last piece. It has a warmth to it that is lacking in the crisp digital-paints.

Do you work with Painter, Photoshop, or something new? About 10 years ago, I was looking into this field, but a good-sized Wacom tablet was more expensive than the PC I owned. Kudos for pushing ahead with it!
I really like the one in FPS view. You get a sense of the magnitude of the structure, but you don't see how large it is.
Actually that last one was in fact watercolor, not digital. Generally though I work in Photoshop CS2 with a wacom tablet, though tablets these days are quite affordable. Also I've used the really huge ones, but they're really overrated. I just use the medium sized 5x7 Intuos and it's more than enough for what I do.
I love the motorcycle...I wish I could find one like that.
Those are excellent. Great work.
Be great to see more watercolor work from you.
These are beautiful. I really love the watercolor, and the EVE-inspired one.
