Dieselpunks

Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

Just got back from seeing the new movie Sorcerer's Apprentice. The positives: cool costuming, Nicolas Cage drives a cool car and a creative portrayal of magical battles. The negatives: everything else. Boring storyline, crappy acting, and far too long (nearly two hours). I recommend waiting until it comes to cable or at least ABC since it's owned by Disney. Certainly don't waste your money on it

Thanks for the input. It seems more and more movies are made from a consumer-based perspective rather than from an art-based perspective. Which is sad given that art-based perspective movies can also be profitable.
@Larry - Do you read "The Dresden Files?"

If you were excited enough to spend money on Sorcerer's Apprentice, then give this series by Jim Butcher a chance.
The only reason I went to see it was because my wife wanted to. I would have rather spent my hard earned dollars on Inception. But that is life.

I was thinking about buying the current Dresden File novel Changes.

Inception was the best thing I've seen all year.

As for the Dresden File books, grab the first one if you haven't read it yet. There's a lot of back story, but the whole series is really great if you like urban fantasy.
