Dieselpunks

Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

I know the sub-genre of steamfunk - the blending of Victorian steampunk aesthetics with 1970's blaxploitation styles - has been a hot topic around here of late, with fellow dieselpunks.org editor Balogun Ojetade's interesting articles.

But is there steamfunk music?

Indeed there is!

Allow me to introduce Lord Montague Jacques Fromage! He is to steampunk funk what Professor Elemental is to steampunk rap.

Dressing like a white steampunk George Clinton, Lord MontyJacques III brings funky bass and guitars and soulful beat and lyrics to steampunk music.

And I'll admit, while I'm primarily a blues and swing man, funk and disco have always been guilty pleasures, so I'm really enjoying his musical additions to the steampunk scene.

You can enjoy some of his funky soulful beats on ReverbNation here: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_14593436?utm_campaign=ope...

His online webpresence is at http://www.steampunkfunkbizarre.com.
