The Acid Jazz Age - LSD introduced in the 1920's (Alternate History)

Dig this, Cats.I found this new and Kalidescopic alternate history over at the AHdotCom boards, rappin' out the sordid history of the Flappers and Dizzys gettin' hip to the new Lysergacide Craze, yea?

Float on over and check out what my man Whanztastic has on tap. Tell 'em the Khan sent you.

Trippy, my man. Trippy.
If you get a chance read it...it's a lot of fun imagining the Roaring Twenties with the drugs of the Hippie Sixties.

Just Imagine...

Fritz Lang
Charlie Chaplin
Ernest Hemmingway
Bix, Diz, and Louie
Louis Brunel
Salvador Dali!!!

His quote from the alt-Great Gatsby is worth the read all by itself.
I don't think this would have worked out very well at all. I have a long-standing theory that certain people don't need any mind-altering drugs, because their minds are already "over the fence." That's just how they are, and maybe giving him such a drug might have turned Pablo Picasso into an ordinary Sunday afternoon hobbyist painter, or Charles Ives into a conventional church organist for the rest of his life.

A drug that improves spelling would be useful, though (that's Hemingway, with one "m," and Bunuel), Unless you meant Isambard K. Brunel, that is.
Okay, Pilsner, I agree with your points regarding the drug use, actually (the timeline was done by an acquaintance and done for humor), but I really don't appreciate the rude slam on my spelling. I'm not normally a poor speller, but when I have a 2-year-old yanking at my pant leg while I try to squeeze in a reply I tend to rush things I'd normally take the time to check.

One of the things I like about this site and the *punk movement is the culture of respect, and I really hope not to see that lost.
