Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture
Writer asking for a little assistance on his concept: Iron Horse
I've mentioned my intention to write a few novelettes, combine them with a novella and release it as an ebook right? You can read about that here.
The first character I've designed is the "Everyman Adventurer" archetype named IRON HORSE.
"With a bomber jacket, twin .45s, and a 30s motorcycle this hero blazes through the city streets running down crime. A grease monkey, he was some guy who worked as an agent of Commander Cobalt's and then one day, Commander Cobalt disappears. Our hero would start to dig into his disappearance and discover the Commander's equipment and network of agents, and become Iron Horse. He's strong and smart, but lacks the experience in some areas that Commander Cobalt had - a problem that gets him into trouble sometimes."
Here is something I was fooling around with - it's too "50s" and so I won't be going with it but you get the idea...
I'm half way done with the novelette and I've reached a point in the story where my protagonist needs another motorcycle (you know, cause he destroyed the first one he's been riding so far) and he's obtaining one from Commander Cobalt's stash.
I would love some suggestions regarding where some could be stashed you know? I'd need something dramatic (like the batcave) but dieselpunkish and original. So I wouldn't use a hollowed out volcano, a cave under a mansion etc etc.
I'm not asking for anyone to write the story for me, I've just gotten "stuck" and I was hoping to bounce a few ideas around. If you had any, I'd love to hear them. :)

Some sort of abandon hanger. (Could have a secret rooms in the walls or under the floor where the motorcycles would be kept.)

The secret, half-collapsed tunnels of a speak easy he shut down sometime in the past.
The rum ramps (used for rolling barrels of liquor) could be used to bring a motorcycle in and out.

Speakeasy's good, what about a middleman stash place. Like an old Garage with the pits for under car maintenance with a push out push out wall in the pit to smallish pace to stack 100 barrels of rotgut back in the day. Gangsters done all the work and a garage like that doesn't need to be in an urban setting like a speakeasy does (and that helps maintain anonymity.)

I think it would depend how much time you want your protagonist to spend obtaining this bike. For example, a ruined/abandoned loading dock with forgotten cargo could easily fit into the story without taking up too much space. I am also a fan of Tomes suggestion of rum ramps or the half collapsed tunnels of a speak easy.
For consideration - seeing as how he is a grease monkey and the bike seems to be of some significance to this character, if you were willing to have a larger portion of the story dedicated to the introduction of the new machine you may want to consider having him build it himself from parts he is able to find in a collection of different places?
Either way I am incredibly intrigued by the concept thus far and would love to read it when it's ready!

Old, abandoned factory? Maybe in an old warehouse district that's mostly empty due to the Depression.

I am going to take you up on that :) - thanks for contributing
