The RetroFuture Engine is powering up!

The RetroFuture Engine is a new imprint of Rymfire Books and the spearhead for their new Steampunk line of books and ebooks. 

The RetroFuture Engine is a magazine of introspection and investigation. It is about technology, societies, cross-cultures and counter-cultures, and pushing beyond parasols and goggles. It is a magazine that welcome adventures that remind us of Edisonades, safari stories, and fantastic voyages. It is a publication of bold color and strong character.

We are looking for pieces between flash fiction (750-1000 words) and short fiction up to 6000 words. We also accept genre-related essays about any of the many retrofuturist sub-genres.

Artwork is also accepted, and we will hold a contest each quarter for our favorite pieces. The winner gets their work on the cover of our print and ebook versions, as well as $25 and an interview in the issue. Runners-up will receive their work inside the issue and a contributor's copy.
