I almost chuckled at the suggestion of a sailor suit. I honestly wore one of those from 1993 to 1997. I sometimes miss it. I have even thought about putting my uniform back together, using the local Army/Navy store as a source. As for sweatervests, I love those.
In the movie Xanadu, during the "Dancin'" routine, one of the guys in the 1940s section that always stood out to me was wearing a sleeveless t-shirt with sailor pants and a sailor hat. Doubt I could pull it off, but it's a cool look!
