Back in 1987, Barry Manilow released an album that I loved, in which he tried to combine some modern music sensibilities with the sound of the Big Band Era. It was called "Swing Street" and I now realize that it was a Dieselpunk album before I'd ever even heard the term "dieselpunk" (or "steampunk," for that matter). In any event, the entire album can be played for free on Barry's official YouTube channel:
My favorites are the title track, "Big Fun," and Barry's take on "Stompin' at the Savoy." Enjoy!
