Early Seiko. Late 1930's-Early 1940's.
Foundations of Seiko were the Seikosha clock supply factory, began by a clockmaker in Tokyo's Ginza District. Soon they were produced accurate and well-made wall clocks. In 1913, Seikosha offered the first wristwatches made in Japan and by 1924, these watches were made under the brand name "Seiko." Prized for their accuracy and construction, by 1938, demand pushed yearly production to more than one million watches.
