A computer for writing....
A damaged Torpedo typewriter was refurbished as a computer keyboard. The computer sits behind the 17 inch screen.
The screen is rotated to portrait so it´s possible to work on a full screen page.
The wheel on the right hans side of the typewriter is for scrolling the text. It´s functioning like a normal computer keyboard.
Photo taken by André Kahlke.
The lamp in the background was build by André as well.
The photo was taken on an exhibition in May in northern Germany.
Have fun....

Hi Tome,
the typewriter now has a soft touch. Due to the fact, that all mechanics was completely rusted and I must remove it. Now the levers will touch a piece of hard wood with the contacts.
The Enter key is the modified lever for paper transportation :-) This is very funny and most people looking for Enter and will not find it.
Looking good, sir. How does it feel in motion?
The computer and the typewriter are made by me.
The typewriter is based on a kit from: http://www.usbtypewriter.com
All my work is non commercial.
The lamp in the background was made by André. (www.phonepunk.de)
He made the photo as well.
Have fun,
Horatius
This is really cool. Though the monitor seems to be on it's side.
