About Me
I am a college student, aspiring writer, and amateur jazz musician, and for as long as I can remember I have been in love with the inter-war period and the two-fisted pulp stories set during that time.
I'm currently (as in, instead of studying) working on sketching out an alternate-history Dieselpunk story involving (you guessed it) zeppelins and a band of aero-mercenaries caught between a corrupt corporate executive and the emerging Nazi party. Very Sky Captain-esque. Anyone, especially the AH buffs out there, is welcome to inquire, as I'd love to brainstorm about the setting and such.

David Mark Brown said… I will be diving back into a rewrite on Monday and was wondering if you had any feedback for me. If you haven't had a chance to read it no worries. Feel free to wait for the improved version! If you have read any of it you can just shoot me your comments this weekend and it would be greatly appreciated.
Some critical issues have been brought to my attention that somehow my editors totally snoozed on. So I am looking forward to getting them fixed.

I am needing Beta readers for my novel to make extra sure it is ready for release. I would love to have your expert feedback if you are interested. While the book is not heavy with dieselpunk elements (I believe the next one will be more so), it is set in the era. I posted a bit more description here:

- That all sounds really interesting. I just read a few months ago about U.S. helium production. Apparently one of the largest plants for it was in Texas. So I had been planning on having my "Texicas" empire utilize helium for something. But stupidly I hadn't even really considered rigid airships.
I really like the idea of having Ukraine survive. I spent two summers in the country and learned a lot about their history and character. Having some sort of stalwart Cosack contingency could be really fun to play around with in dieselpunk. The Cosacks kicked ass in the old days. Maybe some semi-secret warrior sect survived and adapted dieselpunk technology with horses and mountain warfare? They could control all the highland/mountain top docking stations throughout the areas making up current day Poland, Ukraine, etc. Not to mention that if they were able to better preserve their homeland they would have some of the only pristine farmland and forests left in Asia.
What are your thoughts on marine warfare in your world?
I have been pondering advanced submarine technology for my bad guys. Stuff that combined GErman uboat tech with fictional craziness that would allow Texicas to dominate the gulf of Mexico, The Mississippi and the Panama Canal.

I'm working on an alt-hist piece based in 1920-30s Texas/Mexico. I'd love to hear more about what you are thinking. Our timelines might be off some, but I always love talking about corrupt corporate entities and emerging global warfare. What sort of alt dynamics exist in your world between the coming axis and allies?
In mine Germany is about to be whipped up in WWI but has a backup plan brewing in Mexico. Evil petro-capitalists emerge to create a Saudi Arabia like country out of Mexico, Texas and most of Louisiana, thus controlling 35% of known oil resources.
So you've got emerging nazis,... Care to share abit more?
