Pilsner's Picks Presents Some Valentine's Day Cupidity

As usual, and I don't know how— someone has been downloading my stuff before I even make the announcement that the new program is up. Being suitably flattered by this, I give you (drum roll, please), the link:http://pilsnerspicks.blogspot.com/If none of this music is romantic and sentimental enough, I'll have to try again next year. See More

Getting the "Jump" On The New Year

Okay, Christmas is over, and now comes the rest of the winter that isn't any fun at all... You freeze your tuchis, and for WHAT? With that in mind, here's some hot music to keep your house (or hovel) warm.http://pilsnerspicks.blogspot.com/See More

A Lot Of The Roots Of Dieselpunk Are In These Old Cartoons...

The more I watch them, the more I realize it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zqbvi8Qm7k&feature=relatedNot that I'd want to be personally "scooped" into a theater or shot to somewhere in Asia with a giant six-shooter! The cool and elegant soundtrack music by Vincent Lopez and his band is just great... it swings, but in a kind of subdued manner.Vincent Lopez was a veteran bandleader by this time, having made…See More

Happy Halloween, Boo, Etc., Etc.

I haven't added anything to the old Musical Morgue in over a year, since it's already just about my whole inventory of spooky and spooky/silly music, so there's nothing more to add. However, for those of you innocent souls who've never descended into this stygian, eldritch crypt of unspeakable horror (and similar Lovecraft-type locutions), here you go:http://www.4shared.com/dir/tq0EugfL/sharing.html#dir=17142464See More

Pilsner's Picks Takes A Bite Out Of The Big Apple

For those of you who missed the perpetually and predictably punctual Picks on the first of the month, I'm back from my extended vacation, so here we go. You won't have to guess where I went when you see the playlist... http://pilsnerspicks.blogspot.com/See More

Pilsner's Picks, Firmly Stuck In the 1920's (But There Are Worse Places To Be Stuck)

Even the 30's tunes are in a 20's style this month. Don't ask me why, I've just been in a 20's mood lately and I can't explain it. Maybe it's the screwy 1929-type behavior of the stock market! So put on your raccoon coats, crank up the Stutz or the Duesenberg or the Pierce-Arrow, and when you get to the "jernt," the password is "swordfish." Tell 'em Pils sent yez. http://pilsnerspicks.blogspot.com/See More

Pilsner's Picks Plus

I'd like to make all my Dieselpunk and Steampunk friends aware of some major additions to Pilsner's Picks. I don't add anything to the "permanent wing" folders of my virtual sound museum very often, so it's time to get it going again. There are 20 new (?!) tracks, which can be kind of confusing, but this is a good place to start on your steam railroad journey with side trips to Harlem and Memphis and New Orleans. Enjoy, and don't forget to change the steel needle after playing both sides of the…See More

Pilsner's Picks Arrives With A Thud, Once Again
