My Film Noir April

Hi everyone ^_^Just wanted to mention that I'm partecipating in the AtoZ Blogging Challenge, blogging every day of April about a choosen theme. My theme it's 1940s Film Noir. Not reviews of the films, but more of a social analysis of the phenomenon. You can follow my posts at the link below. I've already posted the firsts.http://theoldshelter.com/atoz-challenge-theme-reveal-blogfest-day-2017/Hope I'll see some…See More

Jazz Age as a challenge

Hi everyone!I'm taking part to the #AtoZChallenge this April and I thought I'd share.  The AtoZ Challenge takes place over the entire month of April and the goal is blogging every day through the month (except on Sundays) following the letters of the alphabet. If you want, you can blog about a theme, which is what I'm going to do. Last year, I blogged about the Twenties in general (you can check out those posts here, if you feel like it …See More

Give in to the Feeling blog tour

Hi everyone! ^_^I'm so excited to announce that my first book will be out the 4th March. It's a speculative story set in 1924 Chicago (I like to think it is dieselpunk) completely set in a speakeasy. I'll be running a blog tour in the two weeks leading up to launching day and I thought I'd share the news with you, since posts of the tour will cover the Twenties (especially social history), gangsters, speakeasies, flappers, but also dieselpunk and speculative fiction in general. Quite a few…See More

8-sentence Sunday

Hi guys :-)I’m trying to figure out how to increase the traffic on my blog and I discovered this http://www.wewriwa.com/ I really like the idea, but I’m not going to enter this, because most of the authors write romance and erotica and this is not really my thing. Besides, it has nothing to do with what I write.I think I’d try it anyway on my own, but I was thinking: anyone in here interested in organizing our own thing? It doesn’t look very complicated and…See More

Broken Time Blues

Hi everyone :-)I’ve been meaning to post this for a while and today here I am at last. So, has anyone read the anthology “Broken Time Blues”? It’s really nice and a good intro to dieselpunk, which is good for me, because in spite of everything, I’m still new to the genre.I liked it especially because it presents an array of very different stories, and from what I was told in this same forum a while back, I figure some of you wouldn’t consider a few of this stories dieselpunk. I’d be interested…See More

Dieselpunk or Historical with a twist?

Hi to everyone. I’m fairly new to this site, but I’m enjoying it a lot. I especially like the fact there is a writers community here, so I’ll take advantage of all of you and ask a question :-)I’ve been working to a trilogy of novels for some three years not. The trilogy is complete… well, at least in a first draft form, and now I’m focusing on the first novel, with the goal to have it in shape to go out into the wide world possibly next spring.Of course, I’m trying to decide how to present it…See More

You said you were more into the 20s than WWII-era, and I wonder if you also have information about the 10s (teens? Whatever 1910-1919 is called). My Russians never got their revolution, so my 1930s Russia would still be very much like real-world 1910s Russia (or so I'm assuming). Aesthetically, anyway. :)
