Conneticon Dieselpunk/Steampunk Meetup?

Last year there was a very large turnout of Steampunkers, and I have never met such a good group of people and never had such amazing discussions with interesting individuals before in my life. For…Continue

Hey there, I've been a longtime Steampunk, and earlier I've just discovered Dieselpunk and frankly I'm in love with it (I'm surprised I haven't discovered it earlier, since 1920's-40's era in…Continue

Adding Diesel Class to everyday clothing.

So, I was told by my significant other that I somewhat lack fashion sense, in which case I sort of believe since I usually wake up and put on the first clean thing I see (On a normal day, Formal events I actually take extreme care of my appearance) Well, I'm aware that many others out there are the same as me, and don't know whats what out there. There is one thing we know though, Dieselpunk. What ideas do you fine ladies and gentlemen have to add a touch of diesel oil into your everyday…See More

How do you handle Altering Historical people in your writings?

I've been doing some heavy research for a few weeks now as I world build for a short (or series of) stories I plan on writing. Needless to say, this is the biggest undertaking I have done yet as a writer (And I even used to do competitive slam poetry back in college). However I am a bit stuck on something. The world that I'm putting together is at the end of the 1930's, where the Great Depression hit the United States so hard, that the dollar literally is worthless around the globe, allowing…See More

Toy Soldiers: Awarding the Tin Medal of Honor

So I was surfing the Xbox Live archives this morning, with some Live points in my pocket that decided to start to burn itself a hole there, when Toy Soldiers caught my eye. Now the main reason why it did this wasn't because it was "Just another War Game" but it was a War game with the unfamiliar WW1 setting, something that most game designers usually ignore in favor of shooting up Nazis in WW2, The Great War not only paved the way for World War 2, but also is one of the inspiring events that…See More

Hetalia: Axis Powers - Japanese Satire of WW2 Era Politics

I've just recently have gotten Netflix, and was flipping through the different television shows when I came across an anime called, Hetalia: Axis Powers. The main focus of the anime is to represent the various political aspects of the 1930's and 1940's via interpersonal comic relationships between the countries. Such things as the character China's distrust of the Russia character (relating to the Sino-Soviet Split), as well as a subservient role as a cook to the France and British characters…See More

Dieselpunk Women's Clothing

Hey again, So while I have my Dieselpunk Irish Gangster set completed, my girlfriend wishes to do the same. However I have no concept of women's clothing besides a reaction of drool when there's not much of it on a classy dame. Anyhow, would anyone have any suggestions on where to look for an idea for where to start? Such as a website or something of the like that has in detail information on the era's clothing? Also, she's working on a strict budget, so any advice on getting more bang for the…See More

Conneticon Dieselpunk/Steampunk Meetup?

Last year there was a very large turnout of Steampunkers, and I have never met such a good group of people and never had such amazing discussions with interesting individuals before in my life. For the probably very few (If not only just me) of you out there going, I modestly propose a meetup of sorts, if not to just say hello and meet some fellow friendly Dieselpunks. I know I'll be sporting the scene as Patrick Le'Kels, Irish Mutt and Muscle of a Dieselpunk Boston's version of the Irish…See More

Designing a Dieselpunk Baseball Bat worthy of the Mafioso of the Future

Hey there, I've been a longtime Steampunk, and earlier I've just discovered Dieselpunk and frankly I'm in love with it (I'm surprised I haven't discovered it earlier, since 1920's-40's era in American History, I can't get enough of) Anyways, my first stint into Dieselpunk I want to do is a simple costume for when I go to Conneticon 11 this year. The concept is a Dieselpunk Mobster. I have the basic suit, suspenders, and tie all rounded up, and I intend to do some modifications to a Fedora soon…See More
