As I stated in the "culture" section.   I personally think this is a very successful foray into Dieselpunk.  It is story and character driven and does not glorify technology, far from it.Continue

I am throwing out an idea for a new economic order based on an idea that arose out of the Spanish Civil War (the "diesel punk" part).   This is the notion of merging the best of capitalism and socialism into a viable economic system based on cooperatives.   Yes, they aren't new but Mondragon Corp. that formed out the Basque region of Spain in 1955 ('Atom Punk"?) seems to be going strong and spreading world wide.   It is hailed as an example of Distributism as championed by…See More

Just wanted to say hello to you Twizard and thanks for the informative comments on Japanese Fighter Plane Differences and the such!  When I was going to GRAD sCHOOL, Sarasota Fl' My beach hut was right in line with Sarasota Airport.  During the Military Aviation Shows at least once a year A Mitchell B-25 would fly directly over my place.  We"re talking flat land here so because of the volumn of those Pratt&Whitneys(?) I had plenty of time to get a long full look at its approach at about 700ft.  Talk about Double AA fuel dragsters filling the sky. WOW. You mentioned your interesting dad in ur last communique. My father flew '29's out of the Marriannas out over Tokyo for Curtis Lemay.  After war the G.I> Bill put him and his Co-pilot through Dental School in Houston and they later practiced together for 42 yrs!   So long for Now! Wow, thanks for the heads up!  You really know your stuff.  I'm in a rush right now, I'll have to  get back to you,if you have time, to ask you a few more questions on aerial combat.  I do remember though, that the Japanese sent aeronautical engineers to Germany to study the making of their fighters, which you also touched on with your comments to me. Also thank you for posting Not MY Time To Die. Fantastic!!  We were Lucky to win that war.         Frank
