Looking for a way to explain the differences in Dieselpunk vs. Steampunk via imagery

I'm trying to explain to an artsy friend of mine the differences between Dieselpunk and Steampunk, as they are firm to the point of not understanding these differences. In addition, I need these obvious differences in the form of "iconic*" Dieselpunk imagery. I'm not sure whether these belonged in the Photos tab, but I decided they'd pose better questions here. Any takers?*If any Dieselpunk images can be attributed with the term 'iconic', this would be a really good time to post them.See More

Old playlist - does it still exist?

Recently saw the updated playlist, very nice, though I did know damn near every other song on the old playlist by heart, so I was wondering if the old playlist was still hidden in some tiny cache of knowledge. Can someone hook me up?See More

His decrepit excuse for a home did little for his ever-shortening list of reasons not to destroy all remnants of his current life and begin anew in some other back alley …See More

I just gave birth to an IDEA.

Has anyone considered a post system where one person starts off a discussion, then leaves the actions and such open ended, allowing others to post upon their story using fictional characters to have a novel or short story written by a community of people/characters. Sounds good, no? Or does this already exist, and I have proved my inherent n00b-tainted soul?See More

Concerning one Wesley R. Mortega,...

Hello all, I am a newcomer to Dieselpunk and am enjoying it so far. The music in particular, though I have always been attracted to the raygun gothic/art-deco styles that dieselpunk incorporates. I first learned about this style (directly) from Fallout 3 (one of my favorite games of all time, due in large part to the stylistic aesthetics). I have always been a fan of dieselpunk, though I've never been able to cite the art as the dieselpunk it is worth, instead substituting steampunk as the…See More
