I never really thought that this fantastic site would go away, but I was a bit worried about it... weren't you, friends? But an "angel" (in the showbiz sense of the word) appeared at the last moment, and now all is well once again.
I got a couple of messages asking me where the Picks could be found if Dieselpunks vanished into the digital Great Beyond. Well, you can always find it with your favorite search engine, just by typing in "Pilsner's Picks." However, now you won't…
I've recently ran across a nice mobile game Redcon , that depicts war between the Empire and Traitors in a rather dieselpunk fashion.
Basically, you command the Fortress with several gas-mask wielding grunts, fine-tuning its weapons and facilities to meet misson demands and targetting relevant parts of…Continue

Many of us have enjoyed the Prairie Home Companion radio show for years. I've long seen dieselpunk elements to it. So when I heard that Keillor was stepping down from hosting this beloved show I was saddened. His final show will be this Saturday, July 2, 2016.…Continue

Like most here I was in shock when I learned that Dieselpunks.org was going to close on June 23rd. Very few things have changed my life as this site and Tome’s friendship has. After the shock…Continue
What with Dieselpunks staying around for another year, I can say I'm a damn happy person. Dieselpunk just seems to have so much potential for RL Crafts, cons, and stories among a sea of other things and it's one I'm wanting to contribute to in some small way.
So to try and help, what with Dieselpunks damn near going into the morrasse I wanted to say that if anyone needs help and needs a signal boost or even just someone to talk to I'll be checking here frequently.

After seven years, I'll be stepping down from my role as manager but Dieselpunks will continue roaring into 2017!
Thanks to a very generous effort from long-time contributor "Boss" Larry Amyett, we will keep our doors open for another year.
What does this mean to you?Continue
People make the difference in your life. For years people like Tome Wilson and his team have worked hard at keeping people with similar interest in touch as well as inspiring others to pursue new passions and idea's. As he takes on a new chapter in his life, We wish him all the best in his future en devours. I myself will always be grateful for the time that was taken to create a space where artist, writers and dreamers could come together to share, connect, and inspire each other in a…Continue
I write to you today from a place of deep sadness and astounding joy for the future. In my 7+ years as Dieselpunks' owner and lead developer I have witnessed the brightest humans in my life refer to me as their friend. I am truly humbled. In honor of these individuals, I have decided to change my focus in the dieselpunk community from…Continue
As he does on the first of every month, the mysterious and reclusive Pilsner Panther has dropped by with another “stack of sides” pulled from the stygian darkness of his equally mysterious sub-sub-sub-basement record vault. No one knows where it is, but rumor has it that the vault is located beneath the old Gennett Records factory in a remote and nearly deserted section of rural Indiana.
Yes, (drum roll, please), it’s the June Pilsner’s Picks!…
It was revealed Memorial Day that Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Lethal Weapon) will direct a new Doc Savage film with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Being a long time Doc Savage fan, I was really excited, till i read some of the comments by 'The Rock'…Continue
Hi everyone, it's been a while. I just wanted to say that I've rebuilt my OTR archive at Dieselpunk Industries. Currently there are 23,849 episodes available to listen or download. Below is a screen shot of the website and update list.Continue
It's a real mixed bag this time, gang; I always try for variety in the selections, but I think that I've outdone myself this time! There's everything from some hot washboard hokum to the Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ, and the playlist finishes up with some pork chops and gravy (a rare radio "air check" by the Ink Spots, from early in their long career). Enjoy!

Not an April fool, or any other kind of foolishness— yes, it's the April edition of Pilsner's Picks!
I almost didn't make my regular first-of-the-month date for it, because my web host completely changed their site's design last month, and so I had a lot of trouble with the song title and embedded MP3 formatting. This is usually a simple procedure, but not this time! It took me about two hours longer than usual, but now I have it down (after plenty or trial and error, mainly…Continue

All right, it's time for me to take a break from all the raging political hoo-hah, before I finish off yet another bottle of aspirin in a futile effort to control my raging Trump- and Clinton- induced headache.
Not just a break, but a musical interlude! Without further ado (I always run out of ado late in the winter), yes, it's the March edition of Pilsner's Picks!Continue

That's a little-known fact about the groundhog. Anyway, since I don't have any groundhog music (whatever that is), I present instead my annual Valentine's Day program of sentimental tunes for lovers. I especially recommend the Cliff Edwards and Hoosier Hot Shots numbers for wooing purposes. Play them for the object of your affection, and I guarantee that something will happen! If it's not to your liking, please don't sue me, okay?…
I just finished listening to an episode of The Black List Table Reads, a podcast that takes the greatest screenplays that have failed to make it to the silver screen and presents them in as a radio show. The episode I listened to is right up a diesel punk's heart; it features crooked cops, German…Continue

A few years ago, I started a database of Jazz Age slang terms. The intention was to help our artists stay a little more true to the spirit of their favorite eras. I also made a note of recording when the terms were first reported, so you wouldn't mix your decades too much.
As I poured through old documents, I found an excellent distraction in Sarah Churchwell's "Careless People." Inside her overview of Jazz Age culture, I…Continue

And now, what you've been waiting for all year long (which is to say, at this point about twelve hours), the January 2016 edition of Pilsner's Picks!
Happy New Year— or in this case, really old year, since this time we start out in 1925 with a couple of catchy numbers from Frank Crumit and Paul Whiteman.
Enjoy dinner, drinks, and dancing with Jazz Age Style this Thursday as we ring in the New Year with a cinematic journey through the Golden Age of Hollywood. Step back to a time when MGM was king, stars were truly stars and elegance reigned supreme.
With the historic Water Works as our back drop, we’re recreating the glamorous world of the silver…Continue
