Here's a the newsreel on Coney Island,which was made in 1939 though is sometimes mistakenly listed as Coney Island of the 1940s. I found the video fascinating. For some reason I couldn't get the embed to work so I've include a link.

I agree. Seems like today everything has to be bigger, louder, and faster.

It's amazing how there were so many people enjoying themselves on such simplistic attractions. Oh for the times when we appreciated the little things in life. .
