Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

This "East Pole" thing is a recurrent fantasy of mine, it seems : you may want to have a look at the "Polar Palace and "Ice Eternal" pictures in the Steampunk photos album...

Here is a travel poster that will hopefully give you fresh, new ideas for the next holidays !

Answering Tome's question about the graphic tools I use, I actually do not use Photoshop, but Corel, a rather old, outdated version of it, at that. The occasional, rare 3D elements are modeled with an equally old version of Bryce. The "East Pole" picture, since it is digital graphism only without any photographic element, was entirely made with Corel.

Interesting technique. Have you seen the "Painter inspired" (rip-off) tools in Photoshop CS5 yet? They're pretty slick. If you have the new Wacom, it traces the pen tip in three dimensional space, meaning that a flat brush in Photoshop will actually twist and flatten like a real-world flat brush depending on how much pressure you use.
