Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

Thinking back to my contact with my old friend (I mentioned this in Off Topic) reminded me of when we went to see Heavy Metal at the drive-in. Sitting in the back of a pick-up getting wasted on homemade daiquiris that we had mixed up in large coolers before hand. (Ah good times.)

Back on topic. Does anyone recall the segment "B-17"? Very Dieselpunk.

Yep I remember Heavy Metal fondly. That was a rare case of being able to see animations by some of the top illustrators of the day. People like Richard Corbin, Bernie Wrightson and Moebius got to show us what comic art could attain.

It took forever for it to come to DVD due to copyright issues on the music.

I literally wore out my VHS copy of Heavy Metal when I was younger. Loved the bomber sequence for obvious reasons.

As drunk as I got that night I saw it at the drive in it's amazing I even remember that evening. LOL! But I still enjoy it.

I'm surprised anyone remembers anything about Heavy Metal. Even those who have seen it!
