Lights out, everybody.
On Miskatonic Mondays we celebrate the "weird" fiction of HP Lovecraft and the genre of otherworldly horror it spawned.
I’m starting to think we should call this segment “Pocket Change.” Every time I look at KickStarter, there’s another great artist, or team of artists, pitching a Lovecraft-inspired idea.
Some are excellent. Others, not so much.
Today I bring you a classy set of playing cards by Nat Iwata from Portland, Oregon. From a dream born of Lovecraftian ideals and steampunk aesthetics, I think Nat has really hit the mark with this one.
Here’s the write-up.
Steampunk and Cthulhu have joined forces to grace the surface of a custom deck of poker sized playing cards. Designed by a world famous (ok, maybe not exactly) Steampunk artist and printed by USPCC. This unique combination has led to some kickin' art. Featured on the back of each card in the deck is the mighty Cthulhu himself at the center, with scenes from the story in the background, all with a Steampunk twist. Court cards will show characters from the story, and possibly the faces of a few generous backers.
Here's what you'll get in the deck:
As of Miskatonic Monday, the campaign has accrued $14,000 of its $18,000 goal. With this type of momentum, I think our loyal followers can help Nat cross the finish line before March 17th to make this project a reality.

And how can you say no to this guy?
