In a total coincidence, I just saw the 1932 movie "International House," in which W.C. Fields (of all people) pilots an autogyro. Further coincidence, it co-stars Bela Lugosi. The Fields version of the autogyro is equipped with a tiny two-seater automobile that he drives out of the fuselage, but I seriously doubt that the real ones had any such feature!
