Thank ye' kindly for the welcome. Yes, I'm already addicted to searching this place. Soooooo, many good ideas, topics, and descripts of what people are up to.
Thank you for your welcome. Dieselpunk facinates me because so much of the fantastic technology in movies and books existed at the time, albeit in it's infancy. Our home is largely kitted out with 1920-40 furniture and fittings (sadly a modern TV, but a pre-war set is too expensive) and we have a 1937 Plymouth for Dieselpunk adventures. One of my aims is to record the surviving period buildings in Brisbane. We are fortunate to still have a period aerodrome here and quite a number of WW2 Hangers, along with a few deco and international style shops and dwellings. Like you, I am also compiling research for a story I would like to have published one day.
Thanks for welcoming me to Dieselpunks.org, Larry! I'm currently writing the first of a series of Dieselpunk novels that start in 1942 and will be part sci-fi, part fantasy. The course of history changes when Hitler, upon the advice of his Reichs Astrologer, does not invade Russia. I can't reveal any more than that right now. What I can say is that I have a partnership with one of Dieselpunk's most creative 3D graphics designers to bring our joint ideas on the weaponry that 'would have been', to life.
Follow me at my website & blog, www.CharlesACornell.com for more on 'Project-X'. My FBI thriller Tiger Paw has just won the Royal Palm Literary Award for Best Thriller. I'm planning to continue with that series while writing Project-X in parallel.
Thanks Larry. Glad to have found all of you. Been living in the Dieselpunk space for years and had no idea a community existed. Was just doing my own thing...and was shocked to find others that share what had come naturally to me.
