Arrival of the Train (May 9, 2011)

Moskovsky railway station. Victorious soldiers are back from the front.

Today the main station of Saint-Petersburg was a stage for the reenactment of the heroic soldiers' arrival to Leningrad in May 1945. Train of Victory, like 66 years ago, arrived on the October Railway platform. There, to the sound of march, the soldiers were waiting for the mothers, wives, daughters and sisters. Many hugs, declarations of love after years of separation, and a solemn procession to the sound of old war songs - is a gift to railway veterans, those who witnessed and survived the Blockade and to everyone who came to St Petersburg on the day of great victory.

The main idea was to set an example of courage and heroism for all who know the history of the Great Patriotic War only from textbooks, and provide an opportunity to experience unforgettable moments of glory and happiness to those who more than half a century ago, returned to his hometown-hero of Leningrad by the Victory train .
