Imagine. within living memory, an army of kids, average age 19-22, faced and defeated the two scariest armies put into the field of battle--the Wehrmacht, and the Imperial Japanese army. And did it fair and square, as the ancient romans would put it, under the eyes of Mars.

This is an example of why they're called the Greatest Generation. Thank God for these heroes. "Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear."
