Dieselpunk + Steampunk Culture

The Martin Aircraft Company jetpacks have about 200 HP coming out of their dual propellers. They can go up to 1.5 miles [high] in the air and reach speeds of 60 mph. They will aim to make about 500 packs a year. These jetpacks were invented by Glenn Martin, who unveiled his prototype last year in July. This whole contraption weighs less than 254 lbs, so in the UK, you won't need a pilot's license to travel in it. It is capable of traveling 30 miles with a full tank of fuel.

Soon, all of your jetpack dreams will come true with the Martin Jetpack for only $75,000.

only $75,000...
Now all we need is for the clever folks out there to work out how this was done an put up some D.I.Y plans.:D
I don't know if I'd trust my engineering skills to build one of these with parts from Home Depot. We had plans on here not too long ago for a DIY ultralight helicopter. That might fit the bill.
I would. I think it'd be worth risking firey panicked death to fly for a little while on a budget.

A quick death is preferable to paying interest on your 75k long after you are too old to fly anymore.
