The time where we are less then 2 odd days away from.


So as you know you have the wonderful Alternate History Track http://www.chronotrack.org/ it is here for all your steampunk needs. Cindy and the rest of us have been working all year to give you great things to see, do and take photos of.

Please do remember that schedules are subject to change up until the convention (and sometimes, unfortunately, AT the convention). All panels
will be held in the Alternate History track room, Westin International
C, except where noted.

10-11 AM, Intro to the AH Track/Steampunk 101 with G.D Falksen.

11:30 - 12:30 PM, New Voices in Alternate History and Steampunk.

1-2 PM, PD Productions Showcase http://www.getdreadful.com/ . The local Atlanta group of prop-builders and artisans demonstrates their retrofuturistic visions.

2:30 - 3:30 PM, Practical Time Travel.

4-5 PM, Steampunk Superheroes. (WESTIN BALLROOM)

4-5 PM, Broad Universe Rapid-Fire Readings. (TRACK ROOM)

5:30 - 6:30 PM, Hollywood vs. History.

7-8 PM, Steampunk & Victorian Science Fiction (Academic Panel #1).

8:30 - 9:30 PM, The Myth and Reality of Victorian London.

10-11 PM, Tesla vs. Watt-The Great Debate. Audience participation encouraged!

10 AM, Dragon*Con Parade. Come and join the Alternate History Track as we
parade down Peachtree Street in your finest historical or anachronistic
costume! (Meet us at 9:30 at Woodruff Park if you wish to march with us.
Ribbons will be provided while supplies last.)

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM, The Science of Steampunk (Academic Panel #2).

1-2 PM, Steam Queens and Clockwork Hookers: Women in Steampunk.

2:30 - 3:30 PM, Cherie Priest’s Clockwork Century.

4-5 PM The Steampunk meet up and group photo shoot.

Are you going to Dragon con?
Will you be there on Saturday?

Are you planning, plotting, spending hours and months putting together your
ultimate steampunk get up? Do you want it to get shown off in photos
amongst other steampunks all dressed to the 9s as well? Do you want to
get photos by some of the convention's best photographers? Want a shot
of maybe getting in the Guinness Book of Records? If you said yes to any
of these questions, then you need to be at Westin Peachtree Ballroom at 4:00 PM Saturday the 4th of September dressed in your steampunk best.
You will be able to meet up with others dressed their best, photos will
be taken, and then I will take on the task of posing you in the most
epic, biggest steampunk group shot ever attempted in the world. We have a
good hour and I know it can be done and look fabulous.

Are you a photographer going to Dragon Con?
Do you have a camera of some sort? Do you want to take photos of the steampunk at Dragon Con? This event has been made just for you. This is
your opportunity to have them all in one spot to shutter bug to your
heart's content. So bring your camera, hand held lights or what not and
come take photos. Get award winning shots, meet some of the best
costumers and set up shoots for later on. Take this great opportunity to
have fun and make art.

If you said yes to these two things then on Saturday, September 4, be at the Westin Peachtree Ballroom at 4pm bring your cameras and your best steampunk dress. At AROUND 4:30ish I will start to mold you and shape you into a mass of
wonder so that the most epic steampunk group photo can be taken to
rival any ever taken before anywhere in the world! So come one, come all
and meet people.

A rousing debate on revisionist vs. ‘traditional’ history and the evolution of historical presentation.

1-2 PM, Heartless: The Alternate Worlds of L. Frank Baum. A discussion of
Baum’s works coupled with a showing of Whitestone Motion Pictures’

Ana Aesthetic
Ana Aesthetic is a costume designer, actress, and writer. She (and her
costumes) have been featured in print, film and television across the
globe. Ana has her own fashion line with Inhale Corsets and Couture and
works with Penny Dreadful Productions, a conceptual design and
production company.

Doktor A
Raised by the military and monitored by men in white coats until he was 16, Doktor A has always
scribbled monsters. "You will never make a living drawing little men"
said a teacher once. They were nearly right. He has to draw, design and
build little men to make a living. These dubious skills have seen him
work in theatre, TV, advertising, magazines, toy design, merchandising
and the music industry. He lives under a hill in the UK. From there he
monitors the world's off-kilter-culture and produces his dark twisted
dreams. Character driven clashes of urban pop culture, classic
children's stories and neo-Victorian industrial neverlands.

Erin Leigh Bushko
Erin Bushko is the Co-Founder and lead Costume Designer for Penny Dreadful Productions http://www.getdreadful.com/. She has been a professional in her field for over ten years
specializing in Historical, Steampunk, and Fantasy costuming. Her work
has been featured in publications such as Escapist Magazine and Star
Wars Insider.

Carole Nelson Douglas
Carole Nelson Douglas's 54 genre-crossing novels include SF/F, mystery, and romance bestsellers.
Current titles include the Delilah Street, Paranormal Investigator
urban fantasy series (Dancing with Werewolves, Brimstone Kiss).

Cherie Priest is the author of seven novels, including the steampunk pulp
adventure Boneshaker and the Blooker-award winning Four and Twenty
Blackbirds, as well as Fathom, Wings to the Kingdom, and the

G. D. Falksen
G. D. Falksen is the author of several serials, including The Strange Case of the All-Seeing Ear,
as well as An Unfortunate Engagement and The Mask of Tezcatlipoca, both

He is also a speaker on the steampunk subculture, having given
interviews on the subject to The New York Times, the San Francisco
Chronicle and MTV. He is also the lead writer for the video game project

steampunk subculture at various conventions on the East Coast.

Gail Z. Martin
Gail Z. Martin is the author of The Summoner, The Blood King, Dark Haven and
Dark Lady's Chosen (The Chronicles of The Necromancer series). A new
series set in her world of the Winter Kingdoms, The Fallen Kings Cycle,
debuts from Orbit Books in 2011 with Book One: The Sworn.

Jana Oliver
Jana Oliver is best known for her Time Rovers® Series set in 1888 London
during the reign of Jack the Ripper. A combination of steam punk,
science fiction and historical mystery, the series has won ten awards.
The author still wonders if someone didn't add the scores correctly.

Brad Linaweaver
Nebula finalist and Prometheus award winner, Brad has done other media tie-in
novels (Sliders and Battlestar Galactica). He has now moved from story
credits in the independent film scene to his new role as Executive
Producer on forthcoming productions.

Jody Lynn Nye
Jody Lynn Nye lists her main career activity as ‘spoiling cats.’ When not engaged
upon this worthy occupation, she writes fantasy and science fiction
books and short stories.
Before breaking away from gainful employment to write full time, Jody worked as a file clerk, book-keeper at a small
publishing house, freelance journalist and photographer, accounting
assistant and costume maker.

Mike Mignola
Mignola was born in Berkeley, California. He began his career in 1980 by illustrating spots
in the Comic Reader. His first published front cover was the Comic
Reader #196; Dominic Fortune, the Spirit, and Doc Savage in November
1981.In 1983 he accepted an inking spot at Marvel Comics working on
Daredevil and Power Man & Iron Fist for Marvel Comics,Covers for
Batman: A Death in the Family and pencilling Cosmic Odyssey, a
galaxy-spanning 4-issue mini-epic featuring an ensemble cast of DC
heroes, and Gotham by Gaslight, in which a Victorian version of Batman
faces Jack the Ripper. The success of that 52-page one-shot inspired DC
to launch the "Elseworlds" .

Racheline Maltese
Racheline wrote The Book of Harry Potter Trifles, Trivias, and Particularities.
Her fiction has appeared in numerous outlets and she is a regular
speaker on pop-culture topics at fan and academic conferences. Racheline
also voiced Desire and Delirium in a benefit performance of Neil
Gaiman's The Sandman for the CBLDF.

S.M. Stirling
Stirling is best known for his Draka series of alternate history novels and the
more recent time travel/alternate history Nantucket series and
Emberverse series.
