Announcing The New, Improved Pilsner's Picks!

Okay, I can't lie; the only real improvement is that you can now click on the music tracks and play them right on the main page, without having to go to another website and register with the management there.

Other than that, it at least looks different, and a lot of personal "sweat equity" went into the graphics and formatting. Since I only sort of halfway know what I'm doing whenever I use HTML, it took a fair amount of trial and error to get it to come out right. Mostly error.

And so, without further ado (anyone know where I can get some more ado?), here's the Pilsner's Picks Page of the Future! Or at least the present— and still a direct portal to the past.

Thanks, Larry! Hopefully it's now back for good, with no more needless copyright hassles like there were with my old storage host, 4Shared.

That arrangement had worked fine for about five years, but then they hired an overeager new company lawyer and— "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!" But that was, basically, what I got, and who needs it?

The source of all the trouble was the Sonny Bono Copyright Extension Law of 1998, which as far as I'm concerned is about the most egregious example of undue corporate influence and blatant conflict of interest (on Bono's part) in the entire legal history of the U.S. government. Shame on then-president Bill Clinton for signing it, too! To make matters worse, neither Sonny nor his shrill beanpole of a wife ever had any discernible talent as entertainers, as far as I could tell. Obviously, though, the general public disagreed with me, and made them rich.

But that meshuganeh mess is all over, and now the music will continue. My new host, the Internet Archive, is non-profit and is also devoted to the free exchange of information on the internet— as am I. Not only that, they understand and respect the Fair Use Clause! So I seriously doubt that I'm ever going to be bothered by bogus copyright complaints and shutdown threats, ever again.
